What does 4-H do?

*Taken from the 4-H Ontario website.

Through 4-H, youth are encouraged to develop self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, as well as learn useful skills in communications, leadership, problem solving and goal setting. These skills are achieved by participating in one or more of the 60 projects offered by the 4-H program.

In every 4-H community, there are a variety of events beyond the club level in which members and/or volunteers can become involved.

Do you have to have experience when you join a 4-H club?

 No experience is necessary!

4-H accepts people of any skill level. As the 4-H motto states- "learn to do by doing." Join any 4-H club you want without any experience, and you can learn a lot about the club matter itself. Also, when joining 4-H you learn valuable skills such as effective communication, teamwork, good sportsmanship and confidence. You also get to give back to your local communities and Peterborough County.

4-H is about having fun, learning, and meeting new people all at the same time.
