Peterborough County Premier County 2nd Year in a row at Gencor Challenge 2009

It was a very successful run for Peterborough County at the 2009 Gencor Challenge in Markham

on July 16 & 17. For the second year in a row, Peterborough County was named Premier County

of the show.

Total points are awarded on a quiz written on the education day, which is the day before the

show on Friday based on the education day as well as general dairy industry knowledge. The

quiz is worth 450 points.

On show day, both showmanship and confirmation are judged and awarded 350 and 250 points respectively.

Total points for each participant at Gencor Challenge are then tallied out of a possible score of 1000.

All of the 8 participants from Peterborough County made both the showmanship and confirmation cuts on show

day which was a first for Peterborough County!

Ryan Crowley was named the top Intermediate participant of the day. Ryan also

exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion Calf and Christina Crowley exhibited the Honorable

Mention Grand Champion Calf. The eight 4-H members representing Peterborough County were Christina

Crowley,Justin Crowley, Ryan Crowley, Emily Henderson, Kyle Henderson Joel Stillman, Steven Stockdale,

and Stephanie Warner.
